Flagstone
The entire patio was built with this hot tub in mind, Alpine made sure to grade the patio with the perfect amount of slope to make sure the hot tub would function properly. Under the hot tub Alpine used road base and compacted it thoroughly, as well as installed 4 caissons to make sure the tub would stay in place and not settle in the future.
The customer selected a gas fire pit for their project that was built entirely out of buff flagstone. With entertaining friends and family and their children in mind, gas is the perfect choice to quickly and easily turn the fire pit off and on, easily monitor the flame, and enjoy over and over for many years to come.
The patio entry and steps were built with flagstone and travertine, the choice to integrate both materials for the project was simple. Both the flagstone and travertine are a very long lasting and durable material, that virtually need no maintenance. Stone veneer was chosen for the courtyard columns, when choosing brick or stone veneer Alpine always tries to match the existing surroundings to make sure the materials used complement one another, as well as the landscaping.
The granite chosen as the dryscape material to surround the new patio addition, will serve two purposes. To keep positive drainage away from the newly constructed patio, as well as the mixtures of gray complement the colors of the home and the stucco chosen.
The final touches on the project consist of framed and stucco walls and columns with flagstone top caps. To make the patio completely functional at all times, we even installed exterior outlets in the stucco walls and custom exterior lighting throughout. The evening is usually the best time to entertain, so choosing the exterior lighting on all the stucco walls of the enclosed courtyard was the perfect choice.
When Alpine is in the design stage of the projects, we always make sure not to over build for the area. We take all the existing angles and roof lines into consideration, to make sure it is aesthetically a perfect fit among the existing landscape. The exterior doors used for this outdoor living space project were custom made, mahogany stained with antiqued hardware and hinges.
